Privacy Fence
A great way and the most common way to define your property is with a wood privacy fence. It is typical that this type of fencing is constructed from wood with 4x4 post, 2x4 rails, and 6" dog-eared pickets made from pressure treated yellow pine or cedar. To extend the life of the pickets it is common to add a rot board made of a 2x6 pressure treated board that the pickets rest on.

Types of Fencing

Divider Fence
A divider fence is just a simple fence to divide two areas. It may or may not be solid to contain or keep out people or animals.
Security Fencing
Security Fencing is most often not made of wood but a combination of chain link, wire mesh, and/or barb-wire or razor-wire.
Animal & Pet Fencing
Containment fencing is often dependent on the animal or pet you are trying to contain. If you are trying to contain a horse is different than containing a yard full of chickens. Animal fencing varies in the type of material used to build the fence it could be an open 3 rail fence or a wire mesh fence. Iron Fence
Wrought iron fencing is a common choice as a high end alternative to wood, vinyl, or other type of fencing. Iron fence is often used on commercial properties as handrail and pool fencing. Wrought iron fence is very common for gates as well.
